Nokia has announced the appointment of experienced sell-side analyst David Mulholland as its new head of investor relations.
Mulholland will join the Finnish telecoms company from UBS Global Research, where he has worked for more than a decade and currently serves as executive director.
He was previously head of European technology hardware research at UBS, a role that included coverage of Nokia and other industry names like ASML, Ericsson and Infineon.
Mulholland will take up the position at the end of May and report to Marco Wirén, Nokia’s CFO.
‘David has extensive financial skills and has built excellent relationships with major investors over the years,’ says Wirén in a statement. ‘He joins Nokia at an exciting time following our recent announcements about our new company set-up and strategy, and I have no doubt he will be a strong addition to the Nokia team.’
Last year, Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark restructured the company around four business units, pledged to take a leadership role in 5G and made changes to the global leadership team.
‘I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Matt Shimao who has been head of investor relations for the last 10 years,’ adds Wirén. ‘He has helped lead the company through some extraordinary times and I wish him all the best for the future.’
