A diverse group of companies from across the region are in the running to be named top of class, though Thai firms have made a strong showing this year. Eighteen trophies will be handed out on the night, with winners revealed at an awards event at the Singapore Exchange on November 29. This will take place following a day of discussions as companies from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand come together to talk about the latest trends in investor relations.
The forum will hear from Hafizuddin Sulaiman, CFO of UEM Sunrise, on what a modern CFO looks for from IR. UEM Sunrise is nominated for best annual report and best investor event. The forum also features discussions on optimizing stock performance, streamlining targeting and getting management to value IR – among other topics.
The forum will be followed by the big reveal, as short lists turn to trophies and winners are announced.
IR Magazine Awards fall into two categories: researched and nominated. Researched categories – those that make up the best overall investor relations awards and those in the best investor relations officer category – are based on a survey of buy and sell-side analysts and portfolio managers. Nominated categories allow companies to tell their story through their own awards entries, with winners chosen by a panel of judges.
This year, that panel is made up of:
- Ekasit Kunadirekwong, associate director, equity research department, SCB Asset Management
- Jeannie Ong, founding board member and IR advisor, AetrialHealth
- Joshua Lee, portfolio manager, Lombard Odier
- Vijay Natarajan, analyst, real estate and REITS
- Stephanie Tan, head of investor strategy and development, Bursa Malaysia
- Garnet Roach, deputy editor, IR Magazine
