Speakers revealed for West Coast Think Tank

Topics range from listings to lean strategies, investor intelligence to the year ahead in macroeconomics

Want to know what the buy side wants to know? Fancy a Q&A with a sell-side analyst? Or how geopolitics or the price of oil might affect IR in the next 12 months?

All this and more is on the cards at the upcoming IR Magazine Think Tank – West Coast 2017, to be held at the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto on Thursday, April 6.

The day will kick off with a macroeconomic briefing, covering everything from Donald Trump to the drivers of portfolio change. This will be followed by a session titled Doing more with less: Lean strategies for continued success.

The session will cover high-impact targeting, prioritizing the team’s time, optimizing management time and more, with speakers Reuben Gallegos from Hortonworks, Nicole Maselli from OpenExchange and Nate Pollack from Symantec Corporation taking on the topic.

Later in the day, attendees will enjoy a fireside chat with Sara Furber, head of listings at IEX, the upstart exchange profiled in Michael Lewis’ book Flash Boys, before diving into a Q&A with the buy side and sell side.

The Investor intelligence: Q&A with the buy side and sell side session will feature Katrina Rymill, vice president of investor relations at Equinix; Nat Schindler, director of equity research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Chris Stroh, director of corporate analytics at Ipreo; and Pat Walravens, sell-side head of tech equity research at JMP Securities.

After the networking lunch, Chris Hummel, vice president at Broadridge, will join a panel on the digitalization of IR, examining the latest technologies and trends.

The final panel of the day – a spotlight on 2017 best practice from IR professionals – will feature Mark McKechnie, vice president of investor relations and strategic initiatives at Silver Spring Networks, John Nunziati, vice president of investor relations at Nimble Storage, and James Marsh, former Wall Street analyst and head of investor relations at Lionsgate, looking at how top-rated IROs spend their time, what makes for good IR and the holy grail of how to measure your IR success.
