Why smaller investors matter for Nationwide Financial Services

Mark Barnett explains the importance of reaching out to smaller shareholders



Although large shareholders are important, IROs must make an effort to be in touch with all current and potential shareholders, says Mark Barnett, vice president of investor relations at Nationwide Financial Services. ‘The reality is that much of your shareholder base is made up of smaller shareholders and I believe they are just as important as the large ones,’ adds Barnett, noting that the important thing is to look for the right type of shareholder.
